Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract opportunity is available for a skilled Occupational Therapist to support K-12 students in a school setting in Lake Wales, FL. This position plays a vital role in helping children develop the physical, sensory, and cognitive skills necessary for success in the educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' needs and develop individualized intervention plans.
- Implement therapeutic activities designed to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, and functional independence.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to integrate therapy goals within the classroom setting.
- Maintain detailed documentation of progress and communicate regularly with school personnel and families.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist with credentials valid for practice in Florida.
- Experience providing OT services in school settings, preferably within K-12 environments.
- Strong understanding of educational standards and special education regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
